The imported wine increase rapidly in China in recent years. From Jan to Jul 2006, the quantity of imported wine was about 60.6 thousand kiloliter, 88.8% higher than that in the previous year.
According to Wangqi, chairman of the Wine Branch of China Alcoholic Drinking Industry Association, the quantity of imported wine was 53 thousand kiloliter in 2005, of which 20% are wines with a small package less than 2 L. The proportion decreased to 14% compared with the quantity of wines imported from January to July 2006. It shows that the big package original wine was still the main of the imported wine, with the supplement of the foreign self-determination brands.
